About the People Behind Disciple Crate. Yep, we’re passionate about sharing Jesus!
We have a passion for sharing the gospel because we weren’t always believers…
My name is Chris and I, along with my family, are the faces behind Disciple Crate. I grew up as an atheist and didn’t confess Jesus as Lord and Savior until I was 33 years old. You can watch a video about that here.
But when Christ saved me, I realized that there were others out there just like me and my family – the walking dead. People who didn’t know they were dead! Dead without true life that can only come from a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. And from that moment on it has been my joyous passion to share Christ with everyone I can and to help others to do the same.
…so we started holding events in the public park…
We started Disciple Day which is our ministry of “Getting Together with Christ in the Center”. We simply get people together for a fun, non-religious, free event in a public space – that isn’t a church. Being a non-religious event in a public space encourages non-believers to join without feeling threatened or out-of-place and has resulted in many people asking us for the reason for the hope we have! After a while, many new believers were part of our regular get togethers. You can still see what we are up to on our Facebook page.
…so we planted a 24/7 church…
In 2018 we planted a small church in our small town; it’s called Dad’s Place. And in 2023 the Lord guided us to open the doors of the church 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so that we could be a sanctuary for anyone at any time. This enabled us to preach the gospel and reach the lost and broken without pause. We have Bible studies, worship, prayer gatherings and serve meals every day of the week. But reaching and serving “the least of these” comes at a signifigant cost and, of course, they do not have the financial means to fully support the church in the traditional way.
…so we built a business.
That is what Disciple Crate is; a business. A business where we can share our passion for sharing the Good News of Jesus while hopefully earning enough revenue to support our church, our ministry, and our lives. And hopefully, by the Grace and WIll of God, Disciple Crate will bless many and provide for our need.
